Album: THE ROBERTS BROS. / "Sugar & Spice"

Album: THE ROBERTS BROS. / "Twins"

The formation of the Roberts Bros. dates back to 2000 when Peter and Jimmy decided to take some time off from their other projects and do a project together. The result was their highly acclaimed first album release “Sugar & Spice”. The album received extensive airplay on Smooth Jazz radio stations across the US and Canada and the Roberts Bros. received a nomination for the Prism Award for the “Best New Up and Coming Artist” by the Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards in 2001. What followed was a long series of other projects that Jimmy and Peter were independently working on, until they decided almost 10 years later that it would be time for a new album. After more than two years of intense work, Jimmy and Peter finally finished their long awaited second release “Twins”. Jazz and Pop meet R’n’B energy through brothers from seemingly different worlds.

Jimmy developed a strong interest in music from an early age. He started playing the sax in the school band when he was in the 5th grade. Later, after he moved to Los Angeles, he started playing in various bands and became busy doing recording sessions and tours with such artists like Sade, Bonnie Raitt, Gregg Allman, Mike Howard, Johnny Halliday, Rick Braun, Englebert Humperdinck and many others. Jimmy was also a member of Rod Stewart’s band for over 13 years. He still maintains a busy schedule touring the country with the enchanting Carly Simon, Rick Braun and others.
Jimmy recently also released his second album for Indie label Soultone Records “For We Are Never Alone” - a CD filled with spiritual sounds of love, joy and peace.

Peter initially started playing the violin when he was 6 years old. After several years he switched to clarinet, then saxophone and then finally guitar, which to this day is still his favorite instrument. While his parents wanted him to pursue a different career, Peter still kept playing in various bands and at some point started doing studio and touring gigs as a guitar player. He got his first record deal with Teldec/Germany with his Rock power trio project called Peter Roberts' Army. Later he also released several solo records on EMI. After Peter moved to Los Angeles, he produced and wrote songs for artists including George Benson, La Toya Jackson, Daechelle, The Beu Sisters, Irene Cara, Survivor, Lisa Frazier, Under Suspicion and many others. Many of his songs and recordings are also being used on TV shows and feature films. Recent song placements include TV shows and films like “Damages”, “Smallville”, “Melrose Place”, “Basketball Wives”, High Society”, Ugly Betty”, “The Baxter”, “The Young And The Restless”, “I Hate Valentine’s Days”, “Killer Movie”, “Cities Of The Underworld”, “The Natalee Holloway Story”, “How To Be A Player” and many more.
